GATE 2027: IIT Madras Introduces Robotics and Automation, Expands to 30 Papers

IIT Madras, the organizing institute for GATE 2027, has announced the introduction of a new Robotics and Automation (RA) paper, expanding the total number of test papers to 30. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 will be conducted across six dates: February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027, with the application portal expected to open in mid-August 2026 at gate2027.iitm.ac.in. This marks a significant evolution from the inaugural GATE examination held on February 26, 1983, which featured only two papers.

GATE 2027: Key Changes and Examination Structure
