The Institute of Management, Nirma University (IMNU), located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has opened applications for its Master of Business Administration (MBA) and MBA (Human Resource Management) programmes for the 2027-29 academic batch. The application window commenced on September 14, 2026, with the deadline anticipated in the third week of December 2026.

Prospective students seeking admission to these programmes must meet specific eligibility criteria, including a valid CAT 2026 score for regular applicants. The university, which holds NAAC A+ accreditation and AACSB membership, offers a total of 330 seats across both programmes, with 300 allocated for the MBA and 30 for the MBA (HRM).

Application Process and Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in the MBA and MBA (HRM) programmes must complete the online application form available on the official admissions portal. The application fee for Indian candidates is ₹1,600, while NRI/PIO/foreign candidates are required to pay ₹4,500. A valid CAT 2026 score is mandatory for applicants following the regular admission route. For NRI/PIO/FN/OCI candidates, a valid GMAT score, not taken before July 2024, is required. NRI-sponsored candidates will be considered based on CAT-2025 scores.

Applicants must hold a three-year bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate marks. Final-year undergraduate students are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum marks requirement at the time of admission. The programme commencement is expected in the third week of June 2027.

Programme Intake and Fee Structure

The MBA programme has a total intake of 300 seats, bifurcated into 180 for the All India General Category, 45 for the All India NRI/NRI Sponsored Category, and 75 for the Gujarat State Quota. The MBA (HRM) programme has 30 seats, with 18 for the All India General Category, 5 for the All India NRI/NRI Sponsored Category, and 7 for the Gujarat State Quota. Additionally, 15% supernumerary seats are allocated for CIWGC-SEA (5%) and OCI/PIO/FN (10%) categories.

The general MBA tuition fee for the 2026-27 academic year is ₹6.40 lakh per annum, subject to revision by the Fee Regulatory Committee of the Government of Gujarat. Hostel fees for a non-AC twin sharing room without an attached washroom are ₹99,000 per annum plus GST. A student development advance of ₹15,000 per annum is also applicable. For CIWGC & SEA Categories, the fee is ₹11,000 per annum.

Selection Process and Scholarships

The selection process for both MBA programmes involves shortlisting based on CAT performance, followed by a Theme Development & Presentation (TDP) and a Personal Interview (PI). The final merit list is prepared using a composite score that includes CAT/GMAT score (60% weightage), performance in TDP (10%) and PI (20%), academic performance (10%), work experience, and overall profile. The cut-off percentile for the MBA Program in 2026 was 81 percentile.

Nirma University offers scholarships of up to ₹1 lakh per year for eligible MBA students. These scholarships are available for top students and those whose parents’ annual income falls below certain thresholds. Specifically, 23 top students from the All India Category and 7 from the ACPC category receive ₹1,00,000 each. Additionally, 19 students from the All India Category and 6 from the ACPC category with parental income of ₹4 lakh or less receive ₹1,00,000 each, while another 28 students from the All India Category and 10 from the ACPC category with parental income of ₹8 lakh or less receive ₹50,000 each. The university reported a highest placement package of ₹21.35 LPA and an average package of ₹11.21 LPA for the 2025-26 placement cycle.
