Marking Scheme and Exam Structure
The Lecturer Cadre written test was an OMR-based examination with no negative marking. Candidates receive +1 mark for every correct answer, while 0 marks are assigned for unattempted questions or incorrect answers. The examination was organized by the Education Recruitment Board, Punjab (ERD Punjab), which is responsible for recruiting lecturers across government schools in the state.
The exam comprised two sections, each with 150 questions and 150 marks, for a total of 300 marks. Each section had a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes. Section I covered General Paper subjects including Punjabi, English, Teaching Aptitude, General Knowledge, and Mathematics, while Section II focused on the domain specialty of the candidate.

Background of the Recruitment Directorate
The Education Recruitment Directorate was established on 12 October 2015, replacing the Punjab Education Recruitment Board. Its primary role is to organize the Punjab Lecturer Cadre Exam for aspiring lecturers in government schools across Punjab. Since its formation, the Directorate has recruited approximately 75,000 teachers. The Recruitment Branch of the Directorate of School Education (S. E.) Punjab merged with the Directorate of Education Recruitment on 22 June 2018.
The current recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 1,067 Lecturer posts. The release of provisional answer keys is a standard step in the recruitment process, allowing for transparency and candidate feedback before the final results are declared based on the final answer keys.
