CLAT 2027 Registration Begins Live: Check Dates, Link, Eligibility, Application Fees, Documents & Process

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially opened the online application window for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027. Aspiring law students seeking admission into prestigious undergraduate (5-year Integrated LL.B.) and postgraduate (LL.M.) programmes across 24 participating National Law Universities can now register directly on the official portal at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

As per the official schedule released by the Consortium, the online application process will remain active until October 31, 2026. The national-level entrance examination is scheduled to be conducted on December 6, 2026, in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM across nationwide exam centres in offline (pen-and-paper) mode.

CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling out the application form, candidates must carefully check their eligibility to avoid rejection at later stages.

For Undergraduate (UG) Programme (5-Year Integrated LL.B.)

Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. Students appearing for their board exams in 2027 are also eligible to apply.
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- General / OBC / PwD / NRI / OCI / PIO Candidates: At least 45% marks.
- SC / ST Candidates: At least 40% marks.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in CLAT 2027 UG.

For Postgraduate (PG) Programme (1-Year LL.M.)

Academic Qualification: Candidates must possess an LL.B. degree or an equivalent examination from a recognized university.
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- General / OBC / PwD / NRI / OCI / PIO Candidates: Minimum 50% aggregate marks.
- SC / ST Candidates: Minimum 45% aggregate marks.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for CLAT PG.

CLAT 2027 Application Fee Structure

The application fee must be paid exclusively via online mode through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. The fee is non-refundable.

Required Documents for Online Application

Candidates should keep scanned copies of the following documents ready prior to filling out the form:

Passport-size Photograph: Recent clear photograph with light background (JPG/JPEG format, up to 500 KB).
Signature: Scanned signature on clear white paper (JPG/JPEG format, up to 100 KB).
Category Certificate: Valid SC/ST/OBC-NCL certificate (if applicable, PDF format).
Domicile / EWS / PwD / BPL Certificate: Issued by competent authority, if claiming reservation.
Academic Certificates: Class 10 and 12 mark sheets (or LL.B. mark sheets for PG applicants).

Step-by-Step Process to Apply for CLAT 2027

1.Account Registration:Official Portal Visit.

Visit the official portal at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Click on CLAT 2027 and select New Registration. Enter your name, active mobile number, and email ID to generate an OTP for account activation.

2.Fill Application Form:Personal & Academic Data.

Log in using your registered mobile number and password. Enter personal information, address, qualification details, and select three preferred exam cities.

3.Select NLU Preferences:Counselling Priority.

Fill in the preferred order of National Law Universities (NLUs). Note: The preference order submitted during registration remains final for seat allocation during counselling.

4.Upload Scanned Documents:Formatting & Size Compliance.

Upload your passport photo, signature, and applicable category/domicile certificates strictly following the prescribed file size limits.

5.Pay Application Fee & Submit:Final Confirmation.

Pay the required application fee using any digital payment gateway. Review all entered details carefully before final submission, then download and print the confirmation receipt.
