The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced the examination dates for the 2027 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations. The HSC exams are scheduled to begin on February 8, 2027, and conclude on March 16, 2027, while the SSC exams will commence on February 15, 2027, and end on March 11, 2027.

These dates were released in a press note issued by MSBSHSE on Thursday, September 16, 2026, across its nine divisional boards, including Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur, and Konkan. The early announcement aims to support curriculum planning for schools, junior colleges, and students, and to alleviate student stress.

Detailed Examination Schedule and Evaluation Dates

The practical, graded, oral, and internal evaluations for the HSC examination are set to take place from January 20 to February 6, 2027. For the SSC examination, these assessments will be conducted from January 28 to February 13, 2027. The written examinations will follow these internal evaluations, with the HSC exams held in two shifts: Morning (11 am to 2 pm) and Evening (3 pm to 6 pm).

The MSBSHSE will release the subject-wise detailed schedule separately on its official website. Results for the Maharashtra HSC 2027 examinations are expected in May 2027, with supplementary exams scheduled for June and July 2027. A minimum of 35% marks is required to pass the examinations.

Application Process and Deadlines

The application process for the HSC February-March 2027 board examinations began on Friday, August 14, 2026. Regular students are required to submit their application forms through the SARAL system using their PFN-ID. Students in MCVC and ITI streams whose data is not on the FYJC system must submit their information directly to their respective divisional board.

The online application process accommodates regular students, repeaters, private candidates with an enrolment certificate, and eligible vocational students. Students with an APPAR ID must include it when completing their application form. The Maharashtra board will release the MSBSHSE Class 12 exam hall tickets in January 2027.

Registration for Private Candidates and Fee Structure

The deadline for regular registration for private students (Form No. 17) is September 30, 2026. Registration with a late fee of ₹100 per student will be accepted from October 1, 2026, to October 15, 2026. A super late fee of ₹20 per student per day will apply for registrations made between October 16, 2026, and October 31, 2026.

For students who fail to register through the SARAL system by the initial deadline, submissions with a late fee are permitted from November 1 to November 15. Further delayed submissions will incur an additional late fee between November 16 and November 30. The registration fee for SSC is ₹1,990, and for HSC is ₹1,110. A non-refundable processing fee of ₹100 is also charged.

Eligibility and Specific Requirements

HSC private candidates must have passed Std. 10 in the February-March 2025 or June-July 2025 examinations. SSC private candidates who passed Std. 5 and failed between Std. 6 and 9 can apply through their previous school. Those who passed Std. 8 are also eligible to register. Students who passed Std. 5 or Std. 8 through the Maharashtra State Open School Board are eligible to register as private students for the SSC examination through Form No. 17.

Self-study booklets for SSC private candidates will be available online in Marathi, English, Hindi, and Urdu. Students with disabilities must submit a photocopy of their disability certificate or UDID Card. The photograph for the application must be in JPG format, between 25 KB and 40 KB, taken within the last six months, with the face, both eyes, and ears clearly visible.
