NEET MDS 2026: Register & fill choices by September 26

The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released the final state merit list for Round 2 of NEET MDS 2026 counselling. This release is for admission to State Quota MDS Seats and All India Quota MDS Seats at Vananchal Dental College and Hospital, Farathiya, Garhwa, for the 2026 academic year.

Candidates can access the merit lists on the official website, jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in. Following the publication of these lists, online registration and choice filling for seat allotment for Round 2 commenced today, September 24, 2026, and will continue until September 26, 2026.

Key Dates for Round 2 Counselling

The final state merit list for State Quota MDS Seats was published on September 23, 2026, while the final state merit list for All India Quota MDS Seats at Vananchal Dental College and Hospital was released on September 22, 2026. These followed the provisional state merit list for Round 2, which was published on September 21, 2026. Candidates had the opportunity to report discrepancies in the provisional list on September 22, 2026, by emailing controller.jceceb@gmail.com.

The provisional seat allotment letter for Round 2 is scheduled to be issued on September 27, 2026. Next, certificate verification and admission at the allotted institutes for Round 2 will take place from September 27 to September 30, 2026. Candidates who were already included in the State Merit List of the First Round of counselling are not required to submit a fresh application for Round 2.

Application, Counselling, and Security Fees

The eligibility criteria for the second round of counselling remain consistent with those prescribed in Advt. No. JCECEB/48/26-65 dated August 20, 2026, and Advt. No. JCECEB/48/26-69 dated August 24, 2026. The application and registration fees vary by category, with General/EWS/BC-I/BC-II candidates required to pay INR 1,000, while SC/ST/Female/Divyang candidates pay INR 500.

Counselling fees are set at INR 2,000 for General/EWS/BC-I/BC-II categories and INR 1,200 for SC/ST/Female candidates. A security deposit is also required, which differs based on the type of institution and category. For Government colleges, the security deposit is INR 30,000 for UR/EWS candidates and INR 15,000 for ST/SC/OBC/PwD candidates. For Private Dental Colleges, the security deposit is INR 1,00,000. If candidates opt for both Government and Private choices, the security deposit is INR 1,00,000. For the Stray/Mop-Up Round, a security deposit of INR 50,000 is applicable.

Security Deposit Rules and Refund Policy

The security money is subject to forfeiture under specific conditions. If a candidate does not take admission after being allotted a seat in the second or subsequent counselling rounds, the security money will be forfeited. In addition, the security money may not be returned if incorrect information is provided during registration or if required original certificates are not produced during verification.

Conversely, the security deposit will be refunded if a candidate takes valid admission or if no seat is allotted after any stage of counselling. The NEET MDS 2026 result was declared on May 15, 2026. The first round of online counselling for Post Graduate Dental State Quota seats was announced via Advt. No. 65 dated August 20, 2026, and for MDS All India & NRI Quota Seats of Vananchal Dental College & Hospital via Advt. No. 64 dated August 20, 2026.
