PGCET 2026 round 1 counselling: pay fees by October 3, report by October 4

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) today, September 28, 2026, released the post-allotment admission schedule for the PGCET 2026 Round 1 counselling. This schedule pertains to admissions into MBA, MCA, ME, MTech, and MArch programs across Karnataka.

Candidates who have been allotted a seat in the first round of counselling must complete their fee payment by October 3, 2026, and Choice 1 candidates are required to report to their respective colleges by October 4, 2026. The PGCET Round 1 final allotment results were previously published on September 25, 2026, following a provisional result on September 22, 2026.

PGCET 2026 Round 1 Post-Allotment Schedule

Following the publication of the final seat allotment results on September 25, 2026, candidates must now proceed with exercising their choices and fee payment. The window for exercising choices, in consultation with parents, is from September 29, 2026, to October 3, 2026. During this same period, Choice 1 and Choice 2 candidates are required to pay their fees and download the confirmation slip.

The deadline for Choice 1 candidates to report to their allotted colleges with all original documents, as specified in the confirmation slip, is October 4, 2026. The KEA will announce the dates for the PGCET second round seat allotment after the conclusion of the first round counselling process.

Understanding Candidate Choices and Eligibility

Candidates who have been allotted seats in Round 1 have two primary choices. Choice 1 candidates are those who are satisfied with their current allotment and do not wish to participate in Round 2. These candidates must pay the required fees, download their confirmation slip, and report to the allotted college by the specified deadline.

Choice 2 candidates are those who are satisfied with their current allotment but wish to explore the possibility of a better allocation in Round 2 through a float option. These candidates are also required to pay the fee to secure their current seat while remaining eligible for subsequent rounds. The Karnataka PGCET 2026 exam results were released on August 19, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for PGCET 2026 Programs

The eligibility criteria for various postgraduate programs through Karnataka PGCET 2026 vary by program type and candidate category. For the full-time MBA course, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree of at least three years duration from a recognised institute. General category candidates are required to have a minimum aggregate score of 50% in all subjects in their qualifying examination.

Reserved category candidates, including SC, ST, and Category 1 of Karnataka, require a minimum aggregate score of 45% in all subjects for the full-time MBA program. For candidates seeking admission to a part-time MBA course through Karnataka PGCET 2026, a post-qualification work experience of not less than three years as of July 31, 2026, is mandatory.
