COMEDK 2026 Counselling Process
The COMEDK choice filling window for the mock round officially closed today, July 13, 2026, at 4:00 PM. If you successfully locked your preliminary preferences, the consortium will release the mock allotment results tomorrow, July 14, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
Why is the Mock Allotment Important?
The mock round is not a final seat allocation. Instead, it serves as a trial run to help you understand where you stand based on your current COMEDK rank and preference list. Looking at the mock result gives you a clear idea of your admission chances.
If you are unhappy with the mock allotment result, you can change your strategy. The consortium is providing a choice editing window from July 14 to July 16, 2026. During this period, you can add, remove, or reorder your college and course preferences to maximize your chances of getting a better seat in the actual allotment.
Final Seat Allotment and Decision Making
The actual COMEDK 2026 Round 1 seat allotment result will go live on July 17, 2026, at 4:00 PM. Once a seat is allocated, you will enter the decision-making phase. You will have until July 21, 2026, to choose whether to accept the seat, upgrade it in the next round, or reject it. Online fee payment must be completed within this timeframe.
Finally, students who choose to freeze their seats must report to their respective engineering colleges with their original documents between July 17 and July 22, 2026. If a candidate changes their mind, they can cancel their Round 1 seat within the same window.
Total Engineering Seats Available in 2026
The consortium has officially published the final seat matrix alongside the schedule. According to the official database, there are a total of 24,576 engineering seats up for grabs across participating institutes in Karnataka this year.
Because the allocation depends heavily on your COMEDK rank, college preferences, and current seat availability, experts highly recommend filling out the maximum possible number of choices during the editing window. A longer preference list keeps your options open and guards against missing out on a seat entirely during the actual allotment on July 17.
Candidates are advised to keep their login credentials ready and regularly monitor the official website, comedk.org, for real-time link activations.
