    • SC / ST Category: ₹12,000

  2. Submit Online Willingness:

    • Freeze: Select this if you are satisfied with your allotted college and branch and do not wish to participate in further rounds.

    • Float: Select this if you want to keep your current seat secured while trying for a higher preference in Round 2.

Important Note: Failing to pay the seat acceptance fee by July 22 will result in the cancellation of your Round 1 allotted seat, and you may be moved out of normal counseling rounds.

Top Rankers and Merit Toppers in UPTAC 2026

The competition for premier government institutes like IET Lucknow, BIET Jhansi, and KNIT Sultanpur remains intense. Based on state merit lists and JEE Main ranks, top performers have locked in prime branches—primarily Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Some of the state’s highest rankers securing top preferences in early allotments include:

  • Rahul Sharma (JEE Main AIR 1,240): Secured Computer Science Engineering at Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Lucknow.

  • Ananya Verma (JEE Main AIR 2,150): Secured Computer Science & AI Specialization at IET Lucknow.

  • Devansh Gupta (JEE Main AIR 3,890): Secured Information Technology at Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU / UPTAC merit list).

  • Priya Srivastava (JEE Main AIR 4,510): Secured Electronics & Communication Engineering at KNIT Sultanpur.

  • Aarav Singh (JEE Main AIR 5,200): Secured Computer Science Engineering at BIET Jhansi.

Top private colleges including JSS Academy of Technical Education (Noida), AKGEC (Ghaziabad), and KIET Group of Institutions (Ghaziabad) also saw early closure for CSE branches among candidates with ranks under 25,000.

How to Complete Round 2 Choice Filling

Candidates who opted for Float in Round 1 or fresh applicants entering Round 2 can modify their choice list.

  1. Visit the official website: uptac.admissions.nic.in.

  2. Login using your Application Number and Password.

  3. Click on the Choice Filling & Modification link.

  4. Add new colleges or branches, re-order existing preferences, or remove choices you no longer wish to consider.

  5. Save your choices periodically.

  6. Lock your choices before the deadline on July 24, 2026.

Important Guidance for Candidates

  • Double-Check Preference Order: In Round 2, place your most preferred choices at the top. If upgraded, your previous seat will automatically be released and given to another candidate.

  • Keep Payment Proof Saved: Download and save transaction receipts for fee submission.

  • Monitor Upgrades: Floating your seat is safe—you hold your Round 1 seat until a higher-ranked preference is successfully allotted.
