Haryana Police Telecom Wing SPO Recruitment: 400 Posts, Eligibility & Walk-In Dates

The Haryana Police Department has released an official press notification announcing a recruitment drive for 400 Special Police Officer (SPO) positions within its specialized Telecommunication Wing. The engagement is being conducted under Section 21 of the Haryana Police Act, 2007.

Designed as a direct walk-in hiring campaign, the state government aims to quickly onboard skilled former security personnel. The role offers a contractual engagement for an initial period of one year, or until permanent postings are made.

No Entrance Written Tests or Physical Exams

A defining feature of this recruitment drive is the complete absence of written exams and physical efficiency tests (PET).

  • Direct Shortlisting: Candidate evaluation relies on physical document verification, prior service records, and a basic medical fitness test.

  • Fast-Track Onboarding: Because all candidates are seasoned veterans, selected individuals will only undergo a brief 15-day training program before active field deployment.

  • Zero Cost: The department charges no application or processing fee for any category of applicants.

Salary, Uniform Allowances, and Deployment Rules

  • Monthly Honorarium: Selected SPOs will receive a fixed honorarium of ₹20,000 per month, directly deposited into their registered bank accounts.

  • Uniform & Travel Allowance: A one-time allowance of ₹3,000 will be granted to cover uniform costs, along with a ₹150 per day TA/DA allowance for official duty travel.

  • Posting Terms: Candidates may be posted in their home districts based on local availability, but they cannot be deployed at their immediate home police station to prevent conflicts of interest.

Strict Eligibility Standards

To maintain institutional discipline and technical competence, strict criteria have been established:

  • Target Audience: Open exclusively to Ex-Servicemen from the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force), Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs with a minimum of 5 years of active service), and former Constables from the disbanded HSISF and HAP Battalions.

  • Age Limit: Applicants must be between 25 and 50 years of age on the date of advertisement issuance.

  • Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class 12 (10+2).

  • Discharge Record: Candidates must hold a Medical Category ‘A’ rating and an ‘Exemplary’ or ‘Outstanding’ character certificate at discharge. Personnel dismissed or removed for misconduct or medical unfitness are strictly barred from participating.

  • Signal Corps Advantage: Candidates with prior operational experience in managing telecommunication systems—particularly those who served in the Indian Army Signal Corps—will be granted preferential priority during selection.
