MHT CET 2026 Seat Allotment (OUT) LIVE: CAP Round 1 Result Link, How to Check, What’s Next

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has officially declared the MHT CET 2026 CAP Round 1 Seat Allotment Result for admission to First-Year BE and B.Tech engineering programs across the state. Candidates who completed their web option entry during the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) can now check their provisional seat allotment status on the official portal at fe2026.mahacet.org.

According to official statistics released by the State CET Cell, a total of 2,19,417 candidates participated in the choice-filling phase for CAP Round 1. Out of these, 1,57,103 candidates have been successfully allotted engineering seats in participating institutes. The overall allotment includes 98,024 male candidates and 59,079 female candidates. Notably, 16,615 candidates received their first-preference college, which automatically triggered the mandatory Auto-Freeze mechanism.

How to Check MHT CET 2026 CAP Round 1 Seat Allotment Result?

Candidates can access their provisional seat allotment letter by following these simple steps:

1. Visit the Official Website: Navigate to the official portal at fe2026.mahacet.org or cetcell.mahacet.org.

2. Access Result Link: Click on the active link labeled “Check CAP Round 1 Provisional Seat Allotment Result 2026”.

3. Log In: Enter your registered Application ID and Password (or Date of Birth).

4. View Allotment Status: Submit the details to view your seat allocation, including the allotted college and engineering branch.

5. Verify Choice Code: Check the 9-digit Choice Code on your allotment letter, which encodes your Institute Code, Branch Code, Shift, and Category Quota.

6. Download Letter: Download and print your provisional seat allotment letter for verification and institute reporting.

What’s Next? Understanding Freeze, Float, and Slide Options

After checking the provisional allotment, candidates must complete online self-verification and select one of the seat acceptance options through their dashboard:

• Auto-Freeze / Freeze: Candidates allotted their First Preference are automatically frozen (“Auto-Freeze”) and cannot participate in subsequent CAP rounds. They must pay the ₹1,000 seat acceptance fee online and report to the college to confirm admission. Candidates allotted lower preferences who are satisfied can manually select Freeze.

• Float: Candidates allotted a seat other than their top preference who wish to secure it while seeking a better seat in CAP Round 2 must choose Float. Payment of the ₹1,000 fee is compulsory to lock this backup seat.

• Slide: Candidates who accept the allotted institute but want to upgrade to a higher-preference branch within the same institute in Round 2 should select Slide.

Key Reporting Rules and Payment Instructions

• Self-Verification: Candidates must verify their claim details (category, marks, gender, reservation) in the candidate portal.

• Fee Payment Safety: If a transaction fails during fee payment, candidates are advised to wait 15 to 30 minutes before retrying to prevent duplicate debits.

MHT CET 2026 Counselling Schedule and Deadlines

Candidates must adhere strictly to the schedule released by the CET Cell:

• Self-Verification & Online Seat Acceptance: August 3 to August 5, 2026 (up to 5:00 PM)

• Reporting to Allotted Institute: August 3 to August 5, 2026 (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily)

• Display of Vacant Seats for CAP Round 2: August 6, 2026

• Option Entry for CAP Round 2: August 7 to August 9, 2026

Failure to pay the seat acceptance fee or report to the college before August 5, 2026, will result in forfeiture of the seat.
