Maharashtra DSE CAP 2026: Round 1 Seat Allotment Declared at dse2026.mahacet.org.in

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has officially released the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) Round 1 seat allotment results for Direct Second Year Engineering (DSE) admissions for the 2026–27 academic year. Candidates who participated in the counselling process can now check their seat allotment status on the official portal, dse2026.mahacet.org.in.

The DSE admission process offers lateral entry to diploma holders and eligible B.Sc. graduates directly into the second year of undergraduate engineering degree programs across state colleges.

Key Deadlines for Seat Acceptance and Reporting

Following the publication of the Round 1 allotment list, the CET Cell has opened the online seat acceptance and institute reporting windows. Candidates must complete these steps within the specified timeframe to secure or upgrade their seats.

Seat Acceptance Period: Candidates can log in to accept their seats online from August 5 to August 7, 2026 (up to 3:00 PM).
Institute Reporting: Candidates who freeze their seats must physically report to their assigned institutes for document verification and fee payment between August 5 and August 7, 2026 (up to 5:00 PM).

Candidates who miss the August 7 deadline will automatically forfeit their allotted seat in Round 1.

Options Available to Candidates

Depending on whether a candidate is satisfied with their allotted college and branch, three distinct routes can be taken through the candidate login portal:

Auto-Freeze: If a candidate receives their first preference as filled in their option form, the seat is automatically frozen. These candidates must accept the allotment online, pay the seat acceptance fee, and complete their admission at the college. They cannot participate in subsequent regular CAP rounds.
Self-Freeze: Candidates who are allotted a choice other than their first preference but are completely satisfied with it can choose to “Self-Freeze”. After paying the acceptance fee, they must report to the college to finalize admission.
Float / Slide (Betterment): Candidates who wish to retain their currently allotted seat while trying for a higher option in CAP Round 2 must choose the Betterment option. They are required to pay the seat acceptance fee online to hold the Round 1 seat while remaining eligible for an upgrade in the next round.

Download and print the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter for verification and reporting.
