Selection Process & Preference Hierarchy
The admission selection process strictly adheres to guidelines issued by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Madhya Pradesh, and RGPV regulations:
-
GATE-Qualified Candidates: Candidates with a valid GATE score are given first preference during seat allotment. GATE-qualified candidates who secure admission are eligible for monthly AICTE/GATE stipends as per government regulations.
-
Non-GATE Candidates: Remaining vacant seats are allotted to Non-GATE applicants purely on the basis of academic merit obtained in their qualifying degree (B.E./B.Tech. or M.Sc.).
-
Scholarships: Apart from GATE stipends, eligible SC, ST, and OBC category candidates residing in Madhya Pradesh can avail state government post-matric scholarship benefits.
Step-by-Step Application Procedure
Interested applicants must complete the registration and document submission process before the deadline on August 10, 2026.
Research Opportunities and Track Record
Established in 2007, the School of Nanotechnology (SoNT) at RGPV functions as an autonomous university teaching department focused on cutting-edge research and industrial application. The curriculum encompasses core areas such as nanomaterials synthesis, nanoelectronics, nanofabrication, biomedical devices, and clean energy storage solutions.
Alumni from the program have transitioned into research positions at domestic institutions including IIT Indore, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Jodhpur, IISER Bhopal, MANIT Bhopal, and CSIR-AMPRI. Former students have also secured postdoctoral and doctoral placements at global research institutions such as New York University (USA), Ecole Polytechnique (France), Swansea University (UK), Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel), and University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany).
University officials advise candidates not to wait until the final hours on August 10 to complete their forms, ensuring seamless document verification and registration processing ahead of the upcoming semester start.
