UGMAC-AYUSH 2026 counselling registration opens: apply by September 26 for BAMS, BHMS, BUMS

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has initiated the online registration and application process for Under Graduate Medical Admission Counselling [UGMAC(Ayush)]-2026 today, September 21, 2026. This counselling is for admission to first-year Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), and Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) courses for the academic session 2026-27 in government and private AYUSH colleges across Bihar.

The notification, Advertisement No. BCECEB[UGMAC(Ayush)]-2026/01, was released by the BCECEB on September 18, 2026. Admission will be determined by the UGMAC(Ayush)-2026 merit/rank list, which is prepared based on the NEET UG 2026 merit list provided by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Key Dates and Counselling Rounds

The BCECEB has outlined a schedule for the initial two rounds of counselling, with four rounds planned in total, all to be conducted online. Online registration and application for both Round 1 and Round 2 commenced on September 21, 2026. The deadline for completing registration, application, and editing for these rounds is September 26, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

Following registration, the Rank Card Publication is scheduled for September 28, 2026. Candidates must complete their choice filling and locking for Round 1 by September 29, 2026, 11:59 PM. The Provisional Seat Allotment for Round 1 will be released on October 1, 2026, with allotment orders available for download from October 1 to October 4, 2026. Document verification and admission for Round 1 are set for October 3 and October 4, 2026. Candidates who wish to exit Round 1 without penalty can do so on October 5, 2026.

For Round 2, choice filling and editing will open on October 6, 2026, with the last date for these activities being October 7, 2026. The Round 2 Provisional Seat Allotment is scheduled for October 10, 2026, and candidates can download their allotment orders from October 10 to October 13, 2026. Document verification and admission for Round 2 will take place on October 12 and October 13, 2026. the same online registration and application will be used for both Round 1 and Round 2, and no fresh registration opportunity will be provided between these rounds.

Application Fees and Security Deposits

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable counselling fee and a refundable security deposit to participate in the UGMAC-AYUSH 2026 counselling. The counselling fee for Unreserved (UR), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Backward Class (BC), and Extremely Backward Class (EBC) categories is INR 1,200, irrespective of the college type (Government, Private, or both). For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Disabled Quota (DQ) candidates, the counselling fee is INR 600 for Government AYUSH Colleges and INR 1,200 for Private AYUSH Colleges or when applying for both Government and Private colleges.

The security deposit varies based on the type of college. For Government AYUSH Colleges, the security deposit is INR 10,000. For Private AYUSH Colleges, or when applying for both Government and Private AYUSH Colleges, the security deposit is INR 50,000. These security deposits are refundable to eligible candidates after the completion of all applicable counselling rounds.

Admission Process and Candidate Options

Candidates must authenticate their identity using their NEET UG 2026 Roll Number, Candidate Name, and Date of Birth during the application process. Upon successful registration, a UGMAC ID will be provided, which is essential for all future correspondence and counselling activities. The counselling covers BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS courses in all permitted Government and Private AYUSH colleges in Bihar.

Candidates who are allotted seats in Round 1 have two options: FREEZE or FLOAT. Choosing FREEZE marks acceptance of the allotted seat, while FLOAT indicates a desire for upgradation in subsequent rounds. Candidates opting for FLOAT must still report for document verification within the stipulated dates; failure to do so may result in the cancellation of their allotted seat.
