The VITEEE 2026 examination is tentatively scheduled to be conducted between April 28 and May 3, 2026. A mock test will be enabled in March 2026 to help candidates prepare for the online computer-based test (CBT), which will have a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

VITEEE 2026 Exam Structure and Scoring

The VITEEE 2026 exam will consist of 125 questions across five sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English, and Aptitude. Each correct answer will be awarded +1 mark, and there will be no negative marking for incorrect responses. The rank obtained in VITEEE 2026 is based on relative performance rather than fixed marks.

Admission and Counselling Procedures

VITEEE is mandatory for admission to the B.Tech. Programme in VIT. Higher Secondary Board, JEE Main, or SAT scores will not be considered for admission to the B.Tech. Degree programme, as stated by the VITEEE official portal. The final branch allocation depends on the candidate’s rank, category, and choices filled during counselling.

A non-refundable counselling fee of ₹5,900 is required to participate in choice filling. During choice filling, categories must be selected in numerical order (Category 1, then Category 2, etc.); skipping categories is not allowed. Once a branch, campus, or category is allotted, no changes are possible.

Eligibility for campuses is determined by rank. Only students with a rank under 1,00,000 are eligible for the Vellore and Chennai campuses. Candidates with ranks between 1 Lakh and 1.5 Lakhs can apply to Bhopal and Amravati campuses, while those with ranks above 1.5 Lakhs are exclusively eligible for the Amravati campus.

Fee Structure and Refund Policy

VITEEE seats are divided into five fee categories. Tuition fees range from approximately ₹2 Lakhs per year for Category 1 to ₹5 Lakhs per year for Category 5. The full academic fee is refundable if withdrawal occurs before the typical deadline of September 30. However, hostel and mess fees are subject to pro-rata deductions upon withdrawal.
