Guidelines for Candidates with Disabilities

IIT Bombay has outlined specific provisions for candidates with disabilities. A scribe facility is available for eligible PwD candidates for Part-A of the examination, subject to specific conditions and documentation. Also, compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour will be provided for eligible PwD candidates for both Part A and Part B of the examination. This compensatory time cannot be transferred between the two parts.

Candidates are not permitted to bring their own scribes. The misuse of scribe or compensatory time facilities will lead to severe consequences, including exclusion from evaluation, ranking, and admission, or even cancellation of admission. Also, if a scribe or compensatory time was availed, the candidate’s category cannot be changed from PwD to their original birth category during B.Des. admission. Required documents for registration include a recent color photograph and a clear image of the candidate’s full signature on white paper, in specified formats.
