UCEED is a national-level entrance examination conducted annually by IIT Bombay for admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) Application Deadlines and Fees

The deadline for online registration with regular fees is October 31, 2026. Following this, candidates will have an additional window to register with a late fee of ₹500 or US$50. The last date for online registration with a late fee is November 6, 2026, by 5:00 pm. The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as stated by IIT Bombay.

The application fees vary based on the candidate’s category, as detailed in the table below. Female candidates across all categories, along with SC, ST, and PwD candidates, are required to pay a lower fee compared to general, EWS, and OBC-NCL male candidates.

Eligibility Criteria and Examination Structure

To be eligible for UCEED 2027, candidates must have passed Class XII (or equivalent) in 2026 or be appearing for it in 2027, from any stream including Science, Commerce, or Arts & Humanities. Age criteria specify that candidates born on or after October 1, 2001, are eligible for OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL categories, while those born on or after October 1, 1996, are eligible for SC/ST/PwD categories. Candidates must be appearing for Class 12 (or equivalent) for the first time in either 2026 or 2027.

UCEED 2027 is a test centre-based examination with a duration of three hours. The exam is divided into two parts: Part A, which is computer-based, and Part B, an offline drawing component. Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour is provided for Part A, and 20 minutes for Part B, for eligible candidates.
